THE EVAPORATORS - "Ogopogo Punk" LP
This came out a couple months back but I didn't learn about it until
now so I couldn't review it beforehand. The new album from The Evaporators throws down some short sharp blasts of catchy
garage punk built on direct and catchy riffs and straight-ahead beats that go for broke and won't let go. This is full on
driving rock'n'roll that stays no frills in its delivery and let's the song do the talking rather than any production gimmicks
and the like. Humorous lyrics and an overall party vibe keeps the sound moving and almost dares you not to have fun while
listening to this. Add to this a track of Nardwuar from Ali G. (made from records given to Ali by Nardwaur on his interview)
to wrap things up and things take a turn that's different but still in the vibe of the record. Good to see the Evaporators
are still going at it and providing some sonic fun that we really need right now. (BOONE)
