ANTI FLAG - "The People Or The Gun" LP

                                          I know
this has been out for a while but money's been a little tight lately and I
wasn't able to get to this until very recently.
Anti Flag's first album since leaving the valley of the major labels
offers up a batch of catchy energy driven melodic punk rock with songs taking
on religion (and religious abuse), the economic collapse,, cultural control,
the need to take action against the current situation, classism, worker
uprisings, Henry Kissinger and more.  Musically
the songs seem to go between straight ahead punk to a couple of folk inflected
numbers to explosive hardcore and back delivered with in your face guitars and
tons of hooks.  The vinyl version of this
comes with the which side are you on EP which compliments that overall
vibe of this album.  Hard edged and
uncompromising, Anti Flag continues to show that punk hasn't totally just
become another type of bubblegum pop used to sell shit.  (BOONE)
