SHOTGUN SEAMSTRESS #2
81/2x51/2. Copied. 44pp.
I've been meaning to get to this zine for a while since picking it up at the New Bloods show at Lemp, but given how this
past year has been going things fell to the wayside. This issue an interview with the New Bloods, an article on the history
of Go-Go music, a piece on punk rock from an African American perspective,* a Portland scene report, commentary on race, and
more. While the layout is a little rough, the zine makes for interesting reading and offers a different take on a movement
(in this case, the underground) that way way too damn often seems suburban and lily white at the expense of everyone else
(even if that's not intentional). Breezy and sharp, this fanzine is one of those reads that I recommend to everyone interested
in issues such as ethnicity and how it relates to our counterculture. Issue three is now available and I definitely plan
to check it out. A very worthwhile zine in my honest opinion. (BOONE)
