COOL MOMS – download demo

I first learned of this band from a friend via a certain social network I won’t name so I decided to check out this EP online. Cool Moms play a stripped down to the bone style of punk rock with hints of no wave and garage rock taken in for good measure. Direct and to the point, these three songs here stick to the point with basic rhythm guitar fueled raveups that turn love song clichés in on themselves, adding a hint of social commentary as well as a sonic middle finger of sorts. This is a bit rough sonically, but the attitude cuts through and there’s even a sense of fun on here. I just hope this review does this band justice. Hope they put out a tape or seven inch soon.
