NARROW WAVES - "Reducer"
We were made aware of the first song from this Boston based band when a friend on a social media network that I won't
name (like it needs my help) recommended checking it out. Narrow Waves performs a moody, artsy form of indie pop that draws
elements of goth music and chamber pop into the fray. Driven by a mix of acoustic guitar and synthesizers, male and female
vocals tell of longing while a lilting violin line dances around them. What emerges hints at 80s artists such as the Smiths,
Mission UK, and Peter Murphy while not being limited to that sound. Admittedly it's hard to judge a band on their first song
but Narrow Waves has created a song that manages to stand apart and makes you wonder what to expect from them as time moves
forward. (BOONE)
