CAYETANA - New Kind of Normal LP
This album was one that snuck in under the radar so I didn't get a chance to hear it until recently. Cayetana's second
album is moody yet driving blend of punk rock, indie, and the occasional pop hook. Built on simmering tempos and driving
guitars, these personal songs are moody tales of the ups and downs of life and relationships, delivered with an honesty that
can lure you in and prepare for what's ahead. Full of melodies that manage to be both bittersweet and energetic, the trio&'s
guitar fueled fury is sharpened and ready for a melodic catchy kill that makes you curious for more. Cayetana's latest carries
on their history and moves things forward. (BOONE)

LOW LIFE - Die Now CD
This CD arrived in the P.O. Box a while after my for the time being relocation so I wasn't able to fully give it a listen
until months after the fact. On their debut full-length, Low Life deliver some raw hardcore punk with a lo-fi leaning sonic
atmosphere. Nastily distorted guitars and fast drums bash out some raw and crude songs that seem to lie somewhere between
anti social and pure nihilism (the lack of lyrics on the CD package means I have to guess) with topics such as beer, skateboarding,
and a hatred for hispters seeming to be the most clear topics. This band knows their sonic wheelhouse and sticks to it in
all their simple and rough ups and downs. Low Life's debut album will polarize some readers but fans of really rough old
style HC might want to check them out and make up their own minds. (BOONE)

PALEHOUND - A Place I’ll Always Go LP
This was another album I picked up when I saw them live. Palehound's latest album is a batch of simmering indie leaning
rock where simmering mid tempo beats lay waiting to strike as bittersweet (near clean) guitars build and clash with overdriven
leads and crunchy chord work. These personal songs linger in the consciousness and lure you in for the kill when the time
is right. Throw in an occasional acoustic guitar and banjo part and you have an album that walks the line between introspection
and tear down the walls. A Place I'll Always Go remains proof that there's more than one way to rock. Just wish I would've
known about it earlier. (BOONE)

THELMA AND THE SLEAZE - Somebody's Doin' Something LP
First came across this when I saw them live a few months back and decided to pick up the tape. Thelma and the Sleaze's
latest recording is some driving but catchy rock that's a bit jangly with a blend of guitar and organ to songs that mix hard
rock with elements of glam and vintage girl group oldies style harmonies. The album has a bit more jangle than their harder
driving live show, but the music here picks up energy levels as the album continues. Had never heard of this band before this
show was mentioned but after hearing this album (and finding out it had been months old by the time I found out about it)
I do think more people should at least give this disc a listen. (BOONE)
