JEREMY JAY -
“Alpharhythm”/”Moonbeam Window”
Ever since I
came across Jeremy Jay’s Airwalker EP a year or so ago I’ve been curious about
what direction his music will take.
“Alpharhythm” is a synergy of indie rock and pop melding a simple
organic groove of electric guitar and (I think) organ with a catchy danceable
bordering on pop beat to creat something
that can get a floor moving while staying relevant outside of a dance party
setting (easier said than done, I know).
The flip side “Moonbeam Window” is a simmering midtepo rocker that has a
slightly spaced out feel at times within its guitar driven soul. Both songs have a
vibrancy and snap that
makes for a great single (I know in this era of a download, the idea of a
single being one song has caught one, but I believe the B side is just as
important). If you want an example of
what a great rock/pop single (indie or otherwise) can be when it’s done right,
this is a good place to start. (BOONE)
