ORDER OF THE WHITE ROSE -
                                    “War Machine” CD

                                          I remember
being curious about this disc when it came our way a while back but going
through the backlog here and other obligations meant it got pushed back until
now.  Order of the White Rose play
straight ahead vintage flavoured hardcore in the loud, fast variety with power
chords and anger driving the way.  This
band’s songs go for the system’s throat as they take on such things as the
failure to learn from history, war, the erosion of freedom, religion et al as
things are now.  This album has a rough
around the edges feel that adds to the rawness of the music in a way similar to
what HC was like about 25 or so years ago (has it really been that long?).  Sharp, raw,
and to the point, Order of the
White Rose carry on a tried and true trajectory but reveal a band that, if they
stick around, could put their own spin onto hardcore.  This was a very good surprise
                                    to check out
                                    indeed.  (BOONE)
