CHEWY MARBLE - "Modulations" CD
I first learned about this band when I heard them played
on Pat's Power Pop (and Punk) Hours a few months back.and was curious to actually hear the whole album. This band plays
guitar driven power pop with an emphasis on catchy melodies that snare you and won't let up through these medium tempo songs.
There is a breeziness here that keeps the music moving (and somewhat high energy) while still focusing on the
melodies and hooks. While sonically, power pop can be a fairly well tred journey, this band has a knack for creating
vivid imagery in the lyrics that may show a band making their own mark on this (too often maligned) subgenre. Sometimes
jangly, sometimes crunchy, Chewy Marble's music offers a glimpse of what power pop is currently like as we venture into the
