PROPAGANDHI - "Supporting Caste" double LP
This album was something I had
been wanting to cover for a while now (and even thought I had a rough draft but couldn't find it) but somehow it didn't get
in the past issues for some reason. The latest offering from Propagandhi fins the quartet sharpening their medium-fast
punk/metal hybrid where hard driving songs can go from simmering to full on thrash at any moment. Lyrically they continue
their battle cries against a world gone mad talking on such allegedly sacred cows as religion, nationalism, angry conservatives,
cannibalism, death et al, both in how they connect and help to destroy us and in coping mechanisms (and attempt to cope).
along with a tale of a road trip to see Canadian thrash legends Sacrifice play a reunion show among other things. Musically
this album carries on a lot of what the band has always done though the melodic elments find them moving even further away
from pop punk and taking us along for the ride. This is a hella intense album in both words and music but it's always
good to see Propagandhi still at it after all these years. (BOONE)
