LYD – “Best of Lyd” single

I know some of you think I might’ve reviewed this last issue, but that was actually Lyd’s debut single (to the best of my knowledge) and I learned about both of these at the same time, thus pushing back the latest single from this Swedish band.  “Not Over” is a simple driving melody of someone done wrong that seems straight out of the garage as the rough groove meets a tight guitar riff and chanted chorus lines near the end.  “S for Song” is a near punk edged anthem fueled by overdriven chords that push the song forward to a possible underground pop classic.  Short, sharp and straight to the point, Lyd’s latest single will appeal to power pop fans as well as those people looking for melodic songs that still have more than enough rough edges.  (BOONE)
