PARTYLINE -
"Bad For the Baby" EP
I've been hyped for this ever since I
heard about it, so I had to snag it when pre order became an option last
fall. This time around Partyline rip
into short sharp shocks of ray punk rock dished out with a hint of vintage lo
fi vibe. "Bad for the Baby" is
a three-chord ode to persevering in the face of relationships, upheaval, change
et al and how they connect. "Like I
Care" kicks the flip side off with a powerful sonic middle finger that's
while "Stealing From Children" takes on both love and the need to
protect oneself with a great drum break added to the mix. All three songs take
the rough around the
edges, hard driving stripped down punk Partyline has been known for over the
past few years and adds both vintage and lo fi flavors to the music. Party line’s
latest is a far cry from some of
the over polished music the mainstream has tried to pass off as punk these days
but comes off a lot more real in the process.
A must have. (BOONE)
