QUASI – “American Gong” LPQuasi
has always been one of those bands that I've been curious about but have never
really taken the time to check out, so when we had a chance to check out the
new album we jumped at it. The latest from
this trio is a sonic journey that goes from high powered guitar driven rockers
to slower, artier songs and ballads and back, all with a feel that can be
sometimes harsh, sometimes poppy, and even trippy at times but has a soul and
approach that sounds refreshing and unique due to its comfort and ease. Quasi
manages to create an album that shows
what great rock music should be at a time when digital polish and auto tune
overuse has neutered much of what is called rock music. American
Gong is proof that great rock music is still around and won’t die. (BOONE)
