Finally,
after a long time being busy with the paying job and other obligations in my life, I get some time to put this disc on and
give it a listen. The debut EP from this New York band is melodic alternative
cum pop/rock full of polished harmonies and layered arrangements that call to mind both 90s alternative tock as well as 70s
AM radio pop and power pop. The lush sonic palette serves to compliment these
tales of personal relationships (some people would even say “love songs”).
The Beasts of Eden’s music will probably turn some people off but their quest for melody and hooks should go
a long way in gaining them a following with fans of power pop or those people into artier rock. I am curious about how this band would come across live. (BOONE)
