I SING THE BODY ELECTRIC – “Overcoat” download EP

      I’ve been meaning to get around to hearing this for a while but too many things seemed to derail me from really checking this out until now.  I Sing The Body Electric offer up a batch of affable, non-pretentious indie poop on the four songs featured here. Using relatively minimal arrangements for the most part, these personal songs utilize the available space as well as guitar based hooks for a feel that’s familiar yet manages to avoid sounding cliché.  This is one of several digital-only EPs that I Sing the Body Electric had released in the last year and one wonders what audio paths these audio samplers will take overall.  While the music here may put off some more hardcore amongst us, those readers of this zine who have some indie rock/pop leanings might at least want to check this out.  (BOONE)
