POLICE BASTARD – “It’s Good to Hate” CDEP/DVD

      This came out way a while back and we meant to get to it sooner but a number of family related crisis’ kept me from being able to really check this out until very recently.  Once again Police Bastard tear open a sonic wound with a medium fast style of HC punk that has a hint of metal but remains true to their roots.  On this EP they use their sonic fury to tackle society, religion as repression, capitalism et al with a go for the throat approach that won’t let up.  Dual guitars set on kill, angry vocals, and a raw power helps this band carry on the punk tradition of reporting their reality in a direct and honest manner, rough edges and all.  Also included is a DVD featuring a film covering their 2007-8 tour as well as footage from shows in 2009 and this past year that hooked me even more on this band.  Police Bastard is one of those bands that prove once again that punk hasn’t lost touch with what it should be.  (BOONE)
