| RVIVR – LP      Sometimes
a band comes along that takes you by surprise when you hear them.  The debut full-length from RVIVR shows off a
taut catchy collection of punk rock songs with simmering rhythms, an apparent
ease with song hooks, and the ability to incorporate poppy elements without
going full on pop punk.  Almost
overflowing with tasty guitar lines this band sings of life, struggle, loss,
and moving forward amongst other things; all delivered with a blend of
                                    sincerity and heart.  Musically RVIVR
manages to filter their punk roots and harness them as their own, transcending
what could have been clichéd at points.
Breezy, catchy, and thoughtful, this band succeeds in creating songs
that are part call to action, part hooks that refuse to let up, yet always
remains relatable and rocking until the end.
You have to get this record if you have any interest in what real punk
rock is like.  (BOONE) ($12.00 (in hidden cash or money order) to: Erica Freas or Matt Canino.  Rumbletowne Records. P.O. Box 663. Olympia, WZ 98507. rumbletowne.com)
