MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT – “Sinister
Whisperz – The Wax Trax Years” CD
This
came our way a while back and we got a brief pang or two of nostalgia, so when we finally had time to listen this went on.
This disc is a collection of remixes of the hits of this veteran industrial dance act. Full of electronic beats
and synthesizer bass, the tracks are pumped up for the dance floor with sinister overtones, some samples and a vibe that’s
part concept, part background track for imaginary cult movie. The result should bring back (to us old bastards, anyway)
memories of time spent in a “death rock” (what they used to call goth) club waiting for something to happen or
trying to “hook up” (remember when that just to be called a “fling” or a one night stand). If
you’re a fan of TKK from back in the day or someone into electronic dance music who’s curious about the more industrial
old stuff, you might want to check this out. (BOONE)
