OFF- “The First Four EPs” EP box set
Sometimes a band comes out from underneath the radar with less notice than
they deserve but when they attack it’s deadly. The debut box set from OFF is full of throw down the gauntlet HC
punk with short, explosive songs and an in your face approach that’s vintage yet still powerful and fresh. The
songs are angry with an almost anti social bent at times delivered with a ton of energy. With a legacy that includes
members of Circle Jerks, Burning Brides, and Redd Kross there are a lot of expectations for those who found out about them.
Thankfully, they surpassed what people assumed they’d be capable of and offer a debut disc that carries on the
early HC punk flag into a 21st century that needs it even more than we did back in the bad old days of the early to mid 80s.
This is a limited edition vinyl only release so track it down however you can. Regardless of how you get this
one thing is burned into my brain: After hearing this, I totally want to see OFF! live. (BOONE)
