THE WORKHORSE III – CD
Given how busy I was over the past few months the CDs in backlog ended
up getting a little bit neglected. When going through it recently this disc came our way and out of curiosity we put
this on and listened. The Workhorse III offer up some loud, proud, in your face rock n’ roll that blaze through
with a blend of pure rock n’ roll smarts and proto punk energy. Built on direct, driving power chord guitars and
beats so powerful they almost attack you, these songs are high-octane calls that demand you pay attention. Yes, the
band is traveling a fairly tried and true path, but The Workhorse III keep enough energy going through here to make you realize
why this type of rock remains vital. Fast without being speed metal, this is carrying on in what should have been classic
rock but too often gets overlooked these days. While it sometimes takes time for me to get to a disc, this is one of
those I wished I’d put on right away. Get this. (BOONE)
