This flew completely under our radar when it came out online only last year.  However, recent news of a CD release caused us to give this a listen.  The music on Aparacio’s solo debut stays firmly in the pop side of things, though infused with elements of Latin music, dance music, and rock at various points.  Fusing a blend of electronic beats and synths with acoustic and overdriven guitars and a fair amount of harmonies in both English and Spanish.  Within these songs there is an expansive vision and a moodiness that one doesn’t always expect.  It’s hard to explain what arises in this mix, but there’s something that seems oddly accessible even at the moments where things take a distinctly atmospheric, arty turn.  While
