THE
DESTRUCTORS – “101010: The Meaning of Life EP” CD
This came our
way a while back but, amidst the stress and grief I was dealing with last year,
it ended up in the backlog pile until recently.
As usual, The Destructors tear into solid, no frills melodic punk that
takes a definite vintage feel throughout.
This time around they offer up a batch of originals and a few covers
with the themes of life, work, and death in its various forms. There’s some vintage rock flavor on a couple
moments, but this generally stays in the vein Destructors fans have come to
know really well over the years. This
album (at ten songs, it’s really too long to be a CD) continues the Destructors
sonic path, making them one of British punk’s more enduring bands in the
process. I wish I would’ve gotten to
this disc sooner. (BOONE)
