There are a lot of things I’ve been putting off lately
(I know what else is new) due to other things in my life. So there are times
when I have to put a zine together when I find myself going through a backlog of music I hadn’t had a chance to listen
to yet but need to get caught up on. It was during one of these excavations of
sorts that I came across this disc. Fletch Cadillac offer up three songs that
mix vintage leaning HC with a slight hint of rockabilly at some moments with a riff heavy edge leading the way. Destructors 666 have a more melodic take on punk on this disc with hooks taking precedence over riffs and
a cover of the Velvet Underground classic “White Light White Heat.” Both
bands take their respective sounds and infuse them with energy and power to make you enjoy this disc. In an age when punk rock too often seems poised to become the current equivalent of hair metal, this is
a breath of slightly smoke filled but mostly fresh air that I think most of you readers will enjoy. (BOONE)
