THE DESTRUCTORS – “Media Studies” CD
This came to our attention
in the midst of my temporary exile earlier this year so I couldn’t really get to this disc until after I got back.  The
Destructors again deliver more of their melodic driving punk rock with tight songs, driving guitars and chanted choruses throughout.
Songwise, the band focuses on the media this time around, tackling everything from the local paper to the NME to tabloid
attacks to how war is covered et al.  High energy and somewhat angry, this album moves fast as it dissects how the media
frames issues ranging from politics to scandal which, while from a British point of view, has similarities that can pretty
much apply everywhere these days.  There’s enough power here to power a neighborhood or two from a band that’s
been around the block and proves that three chords and rage isn’t necessarily something people can age out of in the
                                    long run.  (BOONE)
