We first learned of this band using the system of tubes (a/k/a: the Internets) and once curious learned about this EP.  The Boulevard Beat's debut EP is s high energy power pop with lots of vintage flavored hooks, anthemic choruses, and a vibe that's part 60s Mersey pop combined with a healthy does of punk attitude.  Dished out with hearts fully on sleeves, these odes to love, rejection, life and the like carefully blend dual guitar arrangements with gooey pop hooks that have you wondering why this isn't on the radio (yes, we all know the real answer here).  The music on this EP calls to mind a rawer version of late 70s power pop where melodies and crunch held hands on a shaky ride, eschewing the slickness of modern "pop" and coming up damn close to the mother lode in the process.  (BOONE)
