THE DOLLYROTS - “Arrested Youth” download EP
This came to our attention right around
the same time as their split single but we couldn’t get to it until now. This little sampler from The Dollyrots
unleashes more of the poppy punk rock that walks a fine line between gooey harmonies and power chord fury that almost decimates
the speakers. Full of driving beats, crunchy chords, and hooks that just as likely draw from 60s AM radio rock and R&B
as from punk rock. There’s an energy here that grabs you and refuses to let go, making you come along for the
ride and enjoy it. The limited edition CD is sold out so I have to list it as a download for now. Still, this
is something that you really should check out if you like catchy as hell music that knows its roots. (BOONE)
