FISHBONE - “Crazy Glue” CDEP
I had no idea this existed until I caught the band
in concert a few months back and had to nab it. Kicking off with the title track where a reggae groove devolves into
a chorus that seems to collapse under itself, the band fires up a musical hybrid of funk, metal, punk, and ska that incorporates
a wide aural palette but still stays firmly in hard rocking mode throughout these songs that are introspective, even dark
at times, but somehow manages to transcend them. In other words, it’s the Fishbone their fans have grown to know
and love over the decades. Good to see this band still making new music after all this time. (BOONE)
