PEEPLE WATCHIN’ - cassette
This tape came across our path recently but we weren’t
able to get to it until recently. Peeple Watchin’ play melodic, to the point poppy punk with breezy songs and
a heart on sleeve personal vibe. Dished out with frenetic bass and coarse guitar, these observations of life come across
with an affability that matches the rough around the edges charm that may be due to the recording quality as much as anything
else. Peeple Watchin’ continue the legacy of rough DIY punk that’s poppy but manages to sidestep what pop
punk has sadly become in the last 15 or so years. They’ve since released a split 7” with Nona that I need
to check out. (BOONE)
