HYSTERICS – EP
I’ve been psyched about this for a while (especially given the delays in coming out) so when I finally was
able to get my mitts on this seven inch, it was go. The debut EP from Hysterics is hard and thick vintage flavored HC
punk built on almost simmering tempos and a sense of rage throughout. Their songs take on issues such as sexism, gender
roles, classism, fascism, frustration and how these factors program us with a passion and anger delivered in each wall of
power chord guitar and a almost pummeling attack that seems to explode through the speakers. Coming in the wake of their
sold out demo tape (if it is said demo, I’m even more impressed) Hystterics carry on a tradition of HC punk that honors
its roots but adds their own feel and approach to the sound. Now if only they’d tour anywhere near the Midwest;
I really want to see this band live. (BOONE)
