P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S. – “Sweet Little Thing”/”I Got Nothin’”
I know this has been out for a while but I had a bigger
than expected backlog to deal with and couldn’t get to it until recently. P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S. tear through throw
down the gauntlet rock n’ roll with obvious footing in metal and punk though not entirely beholden to said subgenres.
“Sweet Little Thing” is a shot of sonic adrenalin delivered with near Motorhead like intensity and a rawness
that threatens to destroy your stereo. The flip side (“I Got Nothin’”) carries a bit more subdued
vibe but remains fast and driving. This band seems to live for heavy distortion and shouted vocals to build an energy
that’s hard to describe to those who haven’t heard it. This band won’t be everyone’s cup of
sake but if you have a jones for raw, pure rock n’ roll you’ll totally be into it. (BOONE)
