This was one of those albums I’d
been psyched about since I first heard about its existence and that it would be out soon.
The latest solo album from Nobacon (best known for his long tenure in Chumbawamba) finds him joining forces with alt
country/roots music super-group the Pine Valley Cosmonauts for a collection of dark folk rock forged by a wide mix of acoustic
and electric instruments that’s as mutli-layered as it is incendiary. Use
the title of the album as a metaphor for the album’s concept, Nobacon and company’s song examine the world around
us covering topics such as war, spying, environmental destruction the like without apology or remorse. This ends up with a journey that takes elements of folk, country, and rock and puts a proudly subversive
spin on everything it touches. This will surprise you so go ahead and give it
a listen; I dare you. (BOONE)
