JACK BUCK - “Ugly” EP
We found out about this seven inch a while back
but hadn’t been able to fully review this until recently given both the space constraints of print and other things
I have to deal with in life. Jack Buck’s debut EP is rampaging aggressive noise rock full of sludgy, sometimes tweaked
guitar riffs, screamed vocals, and a full throttle approach that goes in your face and refuses to let up. Harnessed into short
blasts, the band’s sound is heavy though only hinting at sludge or metal with the song being the main focus of its explosion.
This is an EP that flies in the face of current underground rock movements, minging recent past bands to come up with its
own tweaked out take on underground rock. Not for everyone but check it out and make up your own mind. (BOONE) (jackbuck.bandcamp.com)
