I came across the new single from this band a few months back and found myself curious.  “Honeycomb” is an upbeat song that balances pop hooks and a cathcy rock melody with strange percussion and an off kilter approach to make something that’s odd yet has something aintriguing to it.  “Gotham” is a slower song with a tweaked vibe to it that seems to lie somewhere between art pop and sonic collage. I know Animal Collective can be kind of polarizing but there’s something that’s hard to explain about the music here that keeps them from being generic indie rock and makes them intersting to hear. This is one single you’ll need to hear and decide for yourself. (BOONE)
