It’s taken me a little while but I finally got around
to picking this up. This disc is a recording of the investigative journalist’s
speech in Tampa, Fl back in 2006. Based on his book, Armed
Madhouse, Palast offers evidence of the theft of the 2004 election (you know, the one Dubya allegedly actually won) as a springboard
to look at such topics as uncounted ballots, voter caging lists (and their racist implementation), plans for the GOP to possibly
steal 2008 (the election we face here in the U.S. coming up later this year), The war in Iraq (and said nation’s history),
oil, and how these facts interconnect. There are a lot of twists and turns here
as a number of facts that aren’t heard that often in America
are presented in a manner that combines the reporting style of a journalist with moments of humor. Yeah, I know some people may question the facts presented on here but there is a lot of material offered
as food for thought for the listener to absorb and examine. In addition there
are two remixes featuring samples of Palast’s speech with industrial/electronic music as a backdrop along with other
samples (including some apparently from the movie Airport and Jello Biafra [or at least a sound alike]).
This is definitely worth checking out for anyone curious about the election (and possible fraud that could happen),
the current fiasco in Iraq and the like. (BOONE)
