BLOWBACK - “Greed Runs the Clock” EP
Sometimes you come across something that almost
flies under your radar only to come across it by accident; this is one of those instances. The latest EP from Blowback
throws down some vintage style hardcore punk with driving medium fast tempo battle cries that explore the flaws of American
society from greed to classism to the work environment. Dished out with power chord blitz, chanted choruses, and a no
frills approach, the band’s music draws from early 80s hardcore both in sound and spirit. Short and to the point,
this DC band’s attacks on the society around us are visceral and angry with a heart and soul that shines through. While
it may not appeal to those those confuse metalcore and hardcore, a lot of punk fans will find something to like about the
fourth release from Blowback. (BOONE)
