DEAD DOG - “Don’t Touch Me” LP
Picked this up on cassette when they played
the Hairhole a while back but wasn’t able to get it through the backlog until now. This time around Dead Dog offer
up some low key raw sounding poppy punk chock full of rough edged (even dissonant at moments) guitars, catchy harmonies, and
a raw energy that charms the listener. They sing of dogs, life, food related relationship issues (including pizza vs.
tacos), how a funeral can seem unlike what the deceased would’ve wanted and more with an earnestness that both shocks
and soothes in the listen. This is a band that doesn’t try to be what they aren’t and Don’t Touch
Me is a better album overall as a result. (BOONE)
