This
came our way a while back but ended up getting placed in the infamous backlog pile I complain too much about in the midst
of everything else going on in my life. Thus, as you guessed, I couldn’t
get to it until putting this issue together. SAH’s music is a form of progressive/free
form rock with some footing in math rock and jazz. Their songs are mostly instrumental
pieces that use repetition, drones, tempo and mood shifts to create music that can both intrigue you and frustrate you at
the same time. Sometimes improvisational, sometimes experimental skronk, Sah’s
music creates a strange paradigm that recalls classic prog music to mind but can head towards other (often noisier) pastures
or somewhere else completely different on a dime. I admit it’s not for
everyone and may even alienate some listeners but this band takes a jump into a strange sonic universe that’s open for
listeners who may ant to take the plunge. (BOONE)
