CORIN
TUCKER BAND – “Kill My Blues” LP
I picked this album up when
I saw them
play at the Firebird last fall but wasn’t able to review it until now due to
time and space issues. On her second
album since her family related hiatus, Corin and company deliver a batch of
powerful melodic rock blending passionate high energy guitars with often
bittersweet elements at points. Songs
range from the title track’s introspective yet driving rockers to more
introspective moody tracks that
reference topics ranging from the lack of progress women have made to love and
loss to growing up and the like. More
racous than their debut, Kill My Blues is part party record and party
catharsis as Corina and company deliver some heartfelt songs that up the energy
level and at time almost demand that you move.
It's been out for a while but I really recommend getting this
album. (BOONE)
