DESTROY NATE ALLEN - "With Our Powers Combined"
CD
This came our
way a while back but I hadn't been able to fully get to this due to backlog,
space constraints, and just everyday life.
The latest from Destroy Nate Allen delivers basic, stripped to the
basics folk/punk with songs about first apartments, waking up, the differences
between chick flicks and real relationships, broken down cars, and more. Recorded on tape, there's a basic organic
vibe that incorporates hints of ska and folk within the base of acoustic and/or
electric guitars and occasional organ.
Personal without being emo, this married duo's stories come across with a
catchiness and honesty that reveals more then expected when listening. Since the album came out DNA has moved from
Portland to the Kansas City area so I wonder how that will affect the music, if
not their coffee intake. (BOONE)
