SWINGIN' UTTERS - "The Librarians are Hiding Something"/"Rude Little Rooms"
 I cam across the first
single since The Swingin' Utters got back together a while back and decided to get it but hadn't really been able to listen
to it until now.  "The Librarians Are Hiding Something" is a driving bit of punk rawk with semi love song lyrics that
make allusions to domestic surveillance and literature within its short sharp distorted guitar hooks.  "Rude Little Rooms:
(a non-album B side, to the best of my knowledge anyway) was the last song recorded with Spike Slawson in the band.
Both songs are more mid tempo than their earlier work but there's a steady drive throughout these songs as the overdriven
guitar and rock solid beats keep pushing the songs forward.  It's been a while since the Swingin' Utters released songs
but managed to pique curiosity with these two songs.  (BOONE)
