ZIG ZAGS – “Scavenger”/”Wastin My Time”

I finally had a chance to check this single out recently and thought you should know about it.  On their debut Zig Zags throw down some in your face hard driving rock with footing in the harder side of the underground.  “Scavenger” is a heavy raveup space rock track that goes full throttle and refuses to let up throughout.  The flip side “Wastin My Time” is a simmering slab of garage cum punk rock with a simple straight ahead tempo and verses full of simmering guitar leading to the choruses.    While they obviously wear their influences (garage rock and space rock, especially) on their sleeves, Zig Zags kick out the jams with a solid single that makes you want to hear an album.   (BOONE)
