DINOSAUR JR. - "Now the Fall"/"Ricochet" download single
I was surfing the net a while back when I came
across news that Dinosaur Jr. was putting out a new single. This piqued my curiosity so, after searching around for
any evidence of a seven inch, I went for the download and picked this up. "After the Fall" is a midtempo slice of simmering
rock that combines laconic harmony vocals with the band's harnesed wall of distortion sound for something that's part indie
rock, part vintage style pop jam. On the flip side "Ricochet" is a moodier song driven by a propulsive bass and a feel
that seems trippy at times. The single is a little more midtempo, seeming to simmer until explosion rather than go off
like an explosive but the band's knack for amped up hooks is still there. If you're into Dinosaur Jr. you probably will
want to get this - if you haven't done so already. (BOONE)
