GUS RACHELS - "!!!!!" CD EP
This was another find that I was curious about while lazily wandering
around on the worldwide system of tubes we call the Net. On his latest EP, Gus Rachels delivers some low key personal
post power pop built on a blend of acoustic and electric guitars and his heart on sleeve vocals. Stripped down with
minimal excess (which is saying something given how technology can work these days) there's a slightly rough around the edges
feel to these personal songs with an honesty that seems almost unnatural in today's slick sonic world. While he's not
reinventing the wheel here, Gus Rachels has managed to create a dose of music that continues the vein of one person bands
and the DIY spirit with hooks and spirit. (BOONE)
