AUTOMATIC 7 - "At Funeral Speed" CD
It's been a while since I'd heard of anything related to this band so imagine my surprise when this disc came our way.
Automatic 7's latest album find them continuing on their path of mid-tempo melodic punk songs where simmering intensity holds
power over just blowing out the barricades. Built around heavy guitar and a turn on a dime rhythm section, this band van
go from songs bordering on the best of pop punk to more introspective melancholy material without losing any of the music's
energy and spirit in the process. Some people may find some of the songs on here a little more somber than what they'd expect
from a punk record but there's a feeling throughout that never ceases to be listenable. This interactive CD also features
a handful of videos from A7 and some label mates that can be accessed when in a computer. As I said to start this review
it had been some time since I came across anything new from this band thus making this disc a very nice surprise indeed.
