FLAK N’ BIRDS - EP [“Whatever”/”Goodbye”] download single
I came across
this a while back and was curious so I decided to download it and hear it for myself. “Whatever” is a slightly
crude sounding raveup that walks the fine line between punk rock edge and melodic charm. “Goodbye” is a
simmering midtempo number with a more breezy feel that carries on steadily in an almost mersh manner. Both songs have
an indie feel that draws from mid 90s noise rock as much as punk and hard rock. While the songs have a familiar feel
the energy here helps push things forward and potentially keeps things from becoming cliché. Admittedly this is a preview
for their first album but if you wish to check out a sample beforehand this would be a place to start. (BOONE)
