RAE FITZGERALD - “Quitting the Machine” CD
I got this when I saw Rae and company open for
Lucas a while back and finally found time to give it more than a cursory listen due to work, et al. Her latest continues
Rae’s history for moody acoustic driven folk numbers with the acoustic guitar more prominent than in some of her earlier
work. The resulting songs seem to simmer with a blend of emotions regarding relationships and life in general. as she
sings of the ups and downs of life and love. With a subtle production style, there is a minimalism here that focuses
on the song rather than any fancy gimmicks and lets the songs breathe. I know this has been out for a little while but
if you know someone who may enjoy folk/singer-songwriter stuff the latest from Rae Fitzgerald may be something they would
be interested in. (BOONE)
