THE SHONDES - "The Garden" LP
Sometimes things come out way with a lot of expectations, making the review process a mixed feeling of excitement and
trepidation in the process. When this album came our way we had that feeling but was almost required to put it on as soon
as we could. The Shondes' latest is a batch of driving rock'n'roll, often dealt out at a simmering pace powered by a fuel
of bittersweet toned crunchy guitar and creamy violin lines. This sonic bed creates personal tales that may be about more
than first thought with issues such as autonomy, fear, and hope woven into the mix. Mixing power and vulnerability in a soulful
zeitgeist these anthems explode out the speakers and demand to be heard. The Shondes have been through a lot since their
last album was released but emerge from the upheaval with some of the best albums of the past 12 or so months. In a truly
just world The Garden would be a rock radio regular, but even without that, it's still a must check out album so go listen
to it by any means you can. (BOONE)
