D.O.A. - "Welcome to Chinatown" double LP
Once I found out about this album I was psyched and knew I had to check it out for myself. This is a recording of three
of the seminal HC punk pioneers live shows at The Rickshaw Theater in their native Vancouver, Canada between June 2011 and
January 2013. Taking a long overview of the band’s history, this is wall to wall hardcore punk dished out with
a blend of anger, catchy melodies, a little bit of humor, and a lot of energy. Featuring a mix of newer material with punk
classics, this captures the energy level of D.O.A.'s live shows with a mix of anger, political commentary, and humor as they
sing of the various ills of the world around us from police brutality to racism to homeless to war, et al. Basically, this
is a straightforward audio document of the band's live show in its raw glory. If you're a fan you know what to expect from
this album. If you haven't heard D.O.A. and find yourself curious you may want to hear this album for yourself. (BOONE)
