THE DOLLYROTS - "Barefoot and Pregnant" LP
The Dollyrots released news of this album when they followed the lead of their self titled previous release and decided
to crowd fund a new release, piquing curiosity as things progressed. This time around, The Dollyrots have gone to their roots
in a sense, delivering a batch of rough around the edges melodic rock with a punk footing taking in elements of oldies radio
pop hooks and even hardcore punk for a wide ranging sonic journey. One part cutting, one part joyful these songs blend angst
and humor for songs that take on love, life, pregnancy, and a tongue in cheek take on wanna be anarchists amongst the mix.
While the poppier leanings of the past couple of albums are toned down slightly the album casts a wide net sonically with
a collection that stays both sincere and irreverent in its attitude. If you like punk and rock with gooey, almost pop hooks
that walks the edge between raw edge and tongue in cheek fun then you may very well want to hear this album. (BOONE)
