HYSTERICS - "Can't I Live" EP
I'd been curious about this since I heard it was coming out so it was good when I made it through the backlog to really
check this out. The second EP from Hysterics continues their penchant for loud fast aware hardcore punk. Saturated buzzing
guitar chords and a rampaging rhythm pocket are the aural batteries that power raging audio cries of conscience. Lyrically
they tackle alienation, street harassment, sexist expectations, and the like with a rawness that refuses to let up. While
the band has, very unfortunately, played their last show a week or two back their music will shine on as an example that hardcore
can remain true to its hard rough roots and still sound fresh and important overall. The vinyl of this is selling out fast
but will still available as a download from wherever downloads are sold - including the label's website. (BOONE)
